CHANNING TATUM: DOG

CHANNING TATUM

DOG the film

Channing Tatum announced film production has begun on his new movie DOG.

The film due out in May 2021 follows the story of an Army Ranger and his dog as they embark on a road trip along the Pacific Coast Highway to attend a friend's funeral.

Channing Tatum makes his directorial debut, co-directing the movie with his film production partner Reid Carolin.

Channing: "It’s already been a crazy ride. And we’ve only just begun. And if we survive the rest, it will be one of the most insane stories that I’ve ever been a part of. And I’ve been a part of some pretty crazy ones in this life of mine. This photo is from our first day of production on the first movie that my partner Reid and I are directing. This is our story. It’s taken us two years to get it to the starting line. The next eight weeks will be like riding a bull on sickmode in ludicrous speed. God be with us. In Dog we trust."

Here is your first look at photos from the set of DOG.

Channing made the announcement back in March, that he was working on the film inspired by his beloved dog Lulu.

Channing: "A little over a year ago I got back from a road trip where I said goodbye to my best friend. Now I’m making a movie inspired by her. So proud to announce that DOG will be released by MGM Studios..."

Channing shared a photo captured at MGM studios in March 2020.

Channing: "I watched the MGM lion roar before my favorite movies since i was a kid and still do now. Getting to go in there yesterday and talk about story and character was an honor. But to go in and talk about our 1st film as directors was an actual dream come true for me and my long time life/creative partner Reid. To be a part of their history of films... it’s just doesn’t seem real. Also knowing you got that lion having your back gives a lot of confidence. It’s good to have creative giants hold you down when you need it. And we are gonna need it. Let’s go MGM!!! Let’s make DOG a classic. Love. Took this at their office btw."

CHANNING TATUM: Sparkella

Channing Tatum announces new book he wrote for his daughter Everly.

Channing: "Guys, I don’t know about you but things got a little weird for me in quarantine. I ended up accidentally locking myself in my 7 year old daughter’s room. And I ended up finding my inner child. So this is what I created for my little girl. From what is, I guess, the little girl in me. Thanks for reading."

Channing Tatum's picture book debut is a charming ode to self-esteem and the love between a father and daughter.

The children's book due out on May 4, 2020 is written by Channing Tatum and illustrated by Kim Barnes.

About the book

Ella is excited for her first day at a new school.

Glimmering pencil case? Check!

Shimmering backpack? Check!

Glittery ribbons in her hair? Check!

But her first day doesn't go quite as planned: Her new classmates don't like her disco-ball shoes, her PB&J-with-sprinkles sandwich, or her rainbow-y unicorn painting.

Ella decides to try to be less sparkly at school the next day so the other kids won't make fun of her. But with a little help from her dad, she soon learns the importance of just being herself, no matter what other people say.

CHANNING TATUM: Magic Mike Australia

CHANNING TATUM
in Australia
Tuesday December 3, 2019

Channing Tatum stopped by The Project on Tuesday December 3 to announce his popular strip show Magic Mike Live to Australia!

Channing: "We are bringing Magic Mike Live, which is our live dance show to Melbourne, we're gonna be here for like 24 weeks, and then we're gonna go to Sydney, and then Brisbane, and then Perth."

Magic Mike Live Australia is a brand new dance show, opening first in Melbourne next May, followed by Sydney in November and then Brisbane and Perth dates to follow.

Channing: "It's happening... we're comin' for you Australia. Melbourne, see you in May 2020!"

On Tatum Tuesday of course, Channing appeared live at the desk, chatting with Lisa Wilkinson, Tommy Little, Waleed Aly and Hugh Riminton about what audiences can expect at the Australian Magic Mike Live shows.

Tatum says that audience will not be disappointed, promising a magic show and encouraging boyfriends to bring their girlfriend along to see Magic Mike Live.

Channing: "You're gonna get what you saw in the movies. You're gonna get what you came for. There's gonna be a bunch of naked dudes. It's supposed to me you feel good. It's a really fun show."

Bringing Magic Mike Live down under, you know there's got to be Aussie dancers.

Channing: "Out of 15 dancers, I think we have 10 Aussies."

Channing: "The world of stripping is maybe not the best. We made it a fun movie, but the world itself can be kind of dark. And we kinda made it a little more fun and thats why we wanted to make a live show to kind of just completely change it and evolve it. It's a show that basically hasn't evolved since the 80's when they actually kind of started creating male stripping. I can't believe I'm "changing" male stripping."

Channing chats with Tommy Little about their past jobs as Strippers, with Tommy revealing he was a male stripper

Tommy: "Male stripping needed to change... I was actually a male stripper as well. My name was Four Centimetres of Fury."

When Lisa Wilkinson asked Channing, if he had a Stripper name, he has this to say.

Channing: "I did... It's not something you're allow to name yourself. Chan Crawford. No idea. Zero clue. I was 18 and was like 'Ok, whatever you say boss', I was 18 and an idiot."

Channing: "We did the first movies, and we just wanted to make like a little indie 70's movie with one of my like idols as far as a filmmaker Steven Soderbergh. But the two [Magic Mike] movies we about guys. We didn't want to make a third film, we wanted to make this. And this is actually for women. Made by a bunch of men but with the guidance of women."

When Hugh changed the topic from Magic Mike Live to acting, Channing confessed he loves to switch it up.

Channing: "I just like mixing it up. I don't like doing the same thing twice. The Jump Street movies were my real foray into comedy, I learned a lot on those movies. I personally think in general movies should have it all."

Tommy then asked Channing if there was going to be a Jump Street sequel.

Channing: "We had probably one of the best third movie scripts that has maybe ever been written for a series, and for a lot of reasons that I'm not going to get into, we think we're gonna not do that script and just do a fourth one. I don't know why, it's our dumb logic, but I'm hoping that it does. Hopefully someone is writing it now to do later on next year."

Magic Mike Live kicks off in Melbourne on Tuesday May 26, 2020. Tickets on sale now.
